Info on Hepatitis A
Caused by a virus, hepatitis A is a disease in which the liver becomes inflamed. In most cases, people recover from the disease within six months, and once a person has been infected, he or she cannot become reinfected. Symptoms of this condition are not always present, but can include jaundice, nausea, and a low-grade fever, among others.
Treatment for this condition usually consists of relieving the symptoms associated with the disease while the body fights the infection. Because there is nothing that can actually kill the virus, no specific medicines are used.
