Tyzeka Medication Information

People who have long-term (chronic) hepatitis B infection and active liver damage may receive a medicine called Tyzeka® (telbivudine). Although it is not a cure, Tyzeka can help prevent the virus from multiplying and also help reduce liver damage.

Tyzeka comes as a tablet and is taken once daily. The recommended dosage will depend on how well your kidneys function, but the typical amount is usually 600 mg once daily.

Make sure your healthcare provider has information on your medical history before taking Tyzeka. This drug may not be safe if you are taking certain medications, if you have certain allergies, or if you have medical problems like HIV or kidney disease.
