Havrix Drug Interactions Explained

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when Havrix is combined with any of the drugs listed above.
Caution should be taken when giving intramuscular injections (including Havrix) to individuals on anticoagulant medications (commonly known as "blood thinners"). Make sure your healthcare providers, including the person giving the injection, know if you are taking an anticoagulant.
If you are taking an immunosuppressant, you may not receive the full benefit of Havrix, since the immune system may not be fully capable of responding to the vaccine.
In addition, with some vaccines, especially live ones, people taking immunosuppressants may be at a higher risk of actually developing the infection from the vaccine, although it is usually a milder form. However, because Havrix is not a live vaccine, this is not a problem.

Final Thoughts on Drug Interactions With Havrix

It is possible that not all Havrix drug interactions were discussed in this article. Therefore, you should talk with your pharmacist or healthcare provider about any interactions that may apply to you.
