Oral Sofosbuvir

Sofosbuvir (Sovaldi™) is a medication licensed for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C. It is approved for use in adults and should be used in combination with one or two other hepatitis C medications.
 
Sofosbuvir comes as an oral tablet that is taken once daily. Although the dosage is standard for everyone (400 mg once daily), the length of treatment will vary, depending on the type of hepatitis C virus you have, other medications you are taking, and various other factors. In some cases, sofosbuvir may only need to be taken for 12 weeks, while others may require 48 weeks of treatment.
 
Although most people tolerate this medication well, side effects are possible and may include fatigue, insomnia, and nausea.
